EFT therapy, which stands for “Emotionally Focused Therapy,” is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and working with emotions to resolve relationship issues and personal struggles, primarily by utilizing attachment theory to help individuals identify and express their emotions more effectively, often used in couples counseling to improve connection and intimacy within a relationship; it is considered a short-term therapy approach.

Focus on emotions: EFT prioritizes emotions as a key driver of behavior and believes that by understanding and addressing emotions, individuals can achieve positive change.
Attachment theory basis: This therapy draws heavily from attachment theory, which suggests that secure attachments in relationships are crucial for emotional well-being.
Couple therapy application: EFT is particularly well-known for its effectiveness in helping couples improve their relationships by identifying negative interaction patterns and promoting healthier communication.
Therapeutic goals: EFT aims to help individuals develop emotional awareness, express their needs more openly, and build stronger, more secure connections with others.
Who developed EFT? Dr. Sue Johnson is credited with developing Emotionally Focused Therapy.

The EFT Lab courses are self-guided. For first time users we offer a step-by-step ‘Getting Started Session’ to help you get started, which can be found on your ‘My Courses’ page.
We have also provided a variety of additional resources as you make your way through each course.
Refunds for online courses are only given under the following circumstances:
The student/user did not access any portion of the online course AND the student/user requests a refund, in writing via our Contact form (https://theeftlab.com/contact-us/) within five business days from the date of registration. There will be no refunds for any online courses once a course has been accessed in any manner.
A full refund will be issued less an administrative fee of $35.
Please understand that with the enrollment and accessing of your online course, you have read and agree to the aforementioned refund policy.
Extensions may be requested BEFORE course access expires. Extensions cannot be granted after course expires. (See welcome email for details)
One day at a time, right? While we’d really love for you to complete every lesson and take every quiz, you don’t have to. No one is tracking your progress except you.
The course is here for your benefit – the more you use it, the more you benefit!
You choose how much to do; don’t stress about progress or no progress. Some people just watch the videos. Some people do all of the practice lessons and answer every quiz. You are free to take advantage of as much of the material as you want to.
It’s all about making a daily small effort. Make a commitment to yourself to do X minutes/day – One day at a time – Until you lose access to the course.
You’ll see new things and make new connections each time you review a lesson or topic.
