Carrying out Move 1 of the EFT Tango means:

  1. Noticing the process that’s happening in the session;
  2. Not being distracted by content or story and blocking exits when the couple offers those distractions;
  3. Choosing which partner to focus on;
  4. Asking that partner to tune into his/her emotions in the moment in an effective way.

Watch this Practice Loop of Lorrie doing Tango Move 1 with J and C. Then practice, with Lorrie’s words and/or your own, responding to J’s “What’s that look on your face?” (an indication his attachment panic has been triggered) which brings C’s protest “what do we need to do for me to get that from you?” when the video asks you to.

“An additional benefit of the training is having access to the Practice Loops for a year. Repeating brief exercises frequently has really helped me to learn EFT more effectively. And I am in awe of how they have adapted technology to create this all-around learning program to accommodate varying levels of proficiency.”
